Lego Movie

Lego Movie is an action movie about a construction worker named Emmet, who lives in a dystopian society ruled by President Business played by Will Farrell. Where Emmet lives, everyone does the same thing. Everyones favorite song is "Everything is awesome" and everyone watches the same dumb T.V show. Emmet then meets a girl who's part of the resistance, named Wild Style, who Emmet instantly falls in love with, but sadly, she is dating Batman. She introduces him to a wizard played by Morgan Freeman, who is also part of the resistance. Emmet then goes on a journey through different parts of Lego world and meets new friends such as Metal Beard the pirate, Unikitty, Batman, Green Lantern etc... The movie switches from animation to real life with the characters as humans, showing what President Business is really like and how Emmet is really like. I think that Lego Movie is appropriate for any age group because it has something for everyone. Also, according to the middle aged couple behind me, it is a nice place to take a loud nap. I gave lego movie a 7.7 out of 10.

Despicable Me 2

"Evil Villain" Gru is now a stay at home dad. He now uses his Minions to make Jelly and Jam instead of machines to steel the moon. He throws his daughter Fairy Princess birthday parties, and when the "Fairy Princess" doesn't show up, Gru has to save the day. He dresses up as the Fairy Princess. He even wears the wig (even though he is bald).  A girl named Lucy comes to his door and takes Gru away. She takes him to an underwater lab called rhe AVL. "The Anti Villain League". When Lucy and Gru pair up as partners, they have to stop a villain who has an illegal potion of some sort. I thought the movie was pretty good. It was very funny and made my Grandma laugh multiple times. I give this movie a 8.2/10. Spend it! You can see this movie in the theaters.

Monsters University

Monsters University is the story of a rookie scarer trying to make it big. In the into of the movie, the main character "Michael Wasowski" meets a professional scarer. Meeting the scarer sort of gave Mike the inspiration to become a scarer. It also gave the thrill or the excitement to the audience to start the movie . In the world that the movie takes place, their energy source, is the scream of children. So because of that, being a scarer is a huge honor in the world of monsters. I thought Monsters University was a very good movie. It has a good lesson with a very funny ending. The story is pretty much trying to be an inspiration to someone, saying that if you try hard, you can do anything you set your mind to. For Mike Wasowski, it's not very easy proving that you can be a pro scarer, but for James P. Sullivan, who shares the spotlight with Michael, scaring is in his blood. Sullivan or Sully's dad is a professional scarer, so everyone expects too much from Sully. I give this movie a 9.5 out of 10. Spend it! This is a good movie for any age group.

Epic

Blue Sky Productions has brought us many great and easily recognizable movies. Such as Rio, Robots or the Ice Age films. Epic could have followed in the footsteps of these movies, but it didn't. With stars like Steven Tyler, Amanda Seyfried, Josh Hutcherson, Beyoncè Knowles, or even Pitbull, the movie and plot should have been better. To me, the entire ending was very predictable. I even guessed it at the beginning of the film. An example of this is when it was obvious that Queen Tara would give her powers to her biggest fan, a little flower girl. The ideas had no real adventure to it and the plot was boring. As if the writers were making it up as they went along while writing. I also don't understand the title, Epic. Nothing about the movie was really "epic". While the word epic means heroic or big characteristics, the movie has none. I give this movie a rating of about 5.5/10. Keep it in your pocket. You shouldn't spend your money on seeing this movie in the theater. Just wait 'till it comes out on DVD or see it at a friend's house.

42-Based on a True Story

42 was about a young (colored) man named Jackie Robinson who changed the history of baseball. He was offered a spot on the 1940's baseball team, The Brooklyn Dodgers. Through a lot of racism from the other major league baseball players and tons of death threats, Jackie Robinson managed to change baseball. I feel that the costume designs and makeup were incredible and brought the image of both the characters and the 1940's to life. The sets, acting and directing were great. Also the casting made the characters much more realistic. You can take a family member or child to this movie. It is not inappropriate nor violent.  I give this movie a rating of 9.5/10. Don't keep it in your pocket. I say SPEND IT! :-0 !!

Oz the Great and Powerful

cters  save Theodora from evil, while all along she was good at heart. I honestly didn't like this In all honesty, Oz the Great and Powerful was a pretty bad movie. The movie is based on the book and movie we know as The Wizard of Oz. With all the same characters besides Dorothy and Toto, you might think you know the players. We follow the wizard on his journey from the ordinary world to a magical, colorful land. We find Glinda, the good witch that knows that the wizard, Oz, isn't the real wizard the inhabitants of Oz were waiting for, as it states in the prophesy. Theodora is one of the witches that are good at heart after she is turned evil by her sister, Evanora. Evanora is truly the wicked witch, but keeps it a secret.  Even though I had high hopes, the film was really a disappointment. I feel that some changes could have been made. One revision, for example, is that the writers should have had one of the other charamovie. The writing was bad, it felt like it took too long. Maybe to some people who liked it thought it was brief but when you don't like something it takes longer to finish. Like a year at school when you hate your teacher. But if you liked your teacher then you thought the school year went by in a few short months. I would say it is a good movie to take you

Jack the Giant Slayer

Jack the Giant Slayer is a pretty good movie. It's not going to win anything at the 2013 oscars. It was not a blockbuster. It's about a poor boy named Jack who loves to read stories about Giants. Ten years after the introduction of the movie, Jack is sent to the kingdom to sell the family horse. A monk takes the horse and in return, the monk gives Jack a sack of beans. When Jack's uncle see's that he didn't get any money for the horse, he has a huge, terrible reaction. He gets so mad, that he throws the sack of beans on to the ground. One bean, however, falls into a crack in the floor. A terrible rain storm hits Jack's village. The water falls into the crack making it grow, into a bean stalk. Not just any old bean stalk, but a giant one, that goes higher then the clouds. Literally. The princess gets stuck in this bean stalk and flies to the top of it, trapped in Jack's house. Now the king gathers all of his best men, and volunteering Jack. They climb up to the top of the stalk, tricking a few people to fall off on the way, because of too much weight. Once the princess is found, another journey awaits, getting down from the bean stalk. They meet and kill a few giants on the way. Once all the two main characters, Isabella, the princess and Jack make it down from the land of the giants, the giants come down, wanting to destroy earth, but first, the kingdom. Isabella run away to the indoor royal cemetery, where they are safe. Or are   they? The giant ruler, you can say, gets into the cemetery and tries to eat them both. Then the big ending, Jack throws his last bean down the giants throat. A bean stalk grows in the giants belly, and pops out of the giants body.
THE END!
I give this movie a 71/2 out of 10. It is a good movie to see with your children.
